My order was quickly shipped and received. Upon opening the package I was pleased on the quality of the materials, workmanship, and finish. Upon installing, I noticed the new bolts had the wrong thread pitch. I called Datin and Ed said their bolt distributor had sent them the wrong bolts for the kit. He was very apologetic and said he would send me the new bolts. I was again please to receive the new bolts within two days. Datin has great customer service and quickly corrected a understandable mistake. I recommend these shock skids, they are a great added protection for your vehicle.
Overall good fitment. One side had super tight margins and required some minor threading of the bolt by force. All and all thank you!
These are an all around awesome addition to my Colorado. They were extremely easy to install, look great, and of course protect my rear shocks. I highly recommend them!

Installation is easy. Robust design
Awesome protection, easy install. BUT...why on god's green earth would you include SAE bolts (the 9/16" x 1" that hold the skid to the mounting plate) on a part for a metric truck? Not the end of the world, but the bolts look cheap and it's just dumb to have drag out metric and SAE tools to install a 2-bolt part.
definitely worth the money. Install was quite easy once you install the small bolt with the metal plate first to hold it in place.

I just installed these, and it literally took me longer to get my tools together and climb under the truck, than it did to install them. They're solid protection that everyone DEFINITELY NEEDS if you're going to be on high-clearance-required trails. The plastic dust shroud that surrounds the bottom of the shock extends below the shock, around the bolt. That's how it's held in place. So the lowest point that is exposed IS PLASTIC! I do a fair amount of mild rock crawling and 4-wheelin' and the plastic piece has been hit a few times. It had started to deform. Installing these will definitely protect that, as well as any potential shots to the VERY EXPENSIVE shocks themselves. Easy install, straightforward instructions, quality product and engineering. Couldn't be happier. Thanks Datin!
Looks real strong and was easy to install.
This provides a little extra protection on the trails and over rocks. Took me about an hour to install.
Skids seem well thought out in design and construction with a nice finish. I like how the skid plate forms to the lines of the shock mount and axle. Seems like it will offer great protection. Installation was straight forward although the instructions could use some cleaning up and clarification. It mentions bolt and nut sizes that are not even applicable to this instalation. In order to achieve 100ft/lbs of torque on the lower shock bolt/nut the metal on the skid has to compress and deform in order to make contact with lower shock bracket to stabilize and secure the shock in the the bracket. You can see how the metal deform as you're cranking down on the nut. I just hope this doesn't fatigue the metal over time and create stress cracks in the metal or welds.
This is my second pair. I left my first pair on my truck when I traded in for my new Bison. Great protection and easy install, I have now bought 4 things from Datin and I couldn’t be happier with their products and customer service.
Not a whole lot to say at this point since I just installed them and haven't scraped any rocks, but they were easy to install and appear to be very well made. Highly recommended for anyone looking to protect those expensive DSSV's.
The sturdiness is pretty awesome. Finally got to bang these on some rocks, and they took it like a champ. Only problem is that I had to do quite a bit of dremmel work to get the holes to line up initially. They were about 1/8" off from the bolt even being able to go through. At the time of install, the truck had never been offroaded, so nothing was bent. Luckily I had a dremmel, but had to modify both to fit, and still had to use a mallet to persuade it to go in. They're on now, and will get me by, but very sturdy chunks of metal!
EZ to install and cover the low part of the shocks
These things are beefy, the welds look great, and they have good coverage. Only problem was that the holes didn't line up at all. It took a lot of dremmel work to even get it close, and even after that, I still had to use a hammer to get the bolts in. Not very confidence-inspiring, but they seem like they'd be fantastic if the holes were aligned.
Shock skids went on easily and the fit and finish was top notch. Due to user error I overtightened one of the bolts during instalation which stripped the bolt. I emailed Datin asking to purchase another bolt and mounting bracket, 2 days later I received a priority mail package containing 2 extra mounts and bolts for free. Absolutely great customer service and a great product.
The skids are very well made and have a nice heft to them, I no longer worry about ripping up my rear shocks with these bolted on.
What really shines for me though is the customer service. I installed both skids but didn't have the proper torque wrench handy for the small retaining plates. This caused me to over-tighten one of the bolts, with the end result being a stripped plate. I reached out to Datin to see if I could purchase a replacement plate, letting them know I'd caused the issue.
Datin replied within a day (Sunday of all days) and apologized for the issue, even though it was 100% my fault. They shipped out a replacement set the next day at no charge, not even shipping!
A company with this level of customer service and quality products DESERVES your business!

The Max Protection skids are super high quality, great looking welds and really beefy all around. The install was super quick and easy (you really need 2 people). Everything fit perfectly, the only tough part was torquing the shock bolts to 100ft lbs. My install time was +/- 35 min with 0 issues.

Just got these shock skids for my ZR2 and I must say that they're solid and high quality. Definitely recommend anyone with a ZR2 who goes offroading get one of these to protect their shocks
Extremely pleased with the service. Got email letting me know when product was shipped. Took about 12 days to receive the shock skids in the mail. They were very heavy duty and the powder coat has. I issues when I received it. They were very easy to install, took about 30 minutes with just hand tools.

Very easy to install. Thought that it might be difficult pushing the shock up with the skid plate to insert the bolt (based on some comments and a video), but it was pretty easy. The hard part was torquing the bolt/nut to 100lbs while lying under the truck!
Fit perfect, look like they will do an excellent job of protected the shocks by sliding over objects instead of catching on them. Installed in under a casual hour. Highly recommend The product and the company!
